Patients with a birth defect known as a cleft palate require expansion of the anterior portion of the maxillary arch. The Fan Type Expander addresses this need by placing a hinged device on the posterior segment of the appliance and an expansion screw on the anterior segment. This causes the appliance to open in a “fan” motion with all of the lateral expansion in the anterior region.

The impression is fabricated and prepped. Brackets will be removed if present. This will help get the model ready for your appliance.
A technician precisely joins the expander components by fusing the metal parts together with a focused laser to create a strong, accurate bond.
Technicians will add finishing touches to make sure the appliance is as shiny and sparkly as it needs to be.
The completed appliance goes through rigorous checks and is then sent out through a courier service or, if you're a local southern Californian, Roque will personally deliver it to you,
